Together and apart

Aasta lõpp paneb vaagima tehtut ja tegemata jäänut. Läinud on 365 ja samas seisab jälle ees 365 ööd ja päeva. Leidsin arhiivist ühe sobiliku pildi, mis hea mõtluse pidamise taustaks - jäädvustatud täpselt 4 aastat ja 4 päeva tagasi.  

Veider on, et tänapäeval tahavad nii paljud eristuda, samas unustatakse [mitte-kommerts tõeline pärimuslik] ühisosa. Kes on eestlane, mis on Eesti? on täna pigem lihtsad küsimused. Keerukam on leida vastuseid tulevikku vaadates: kuidas muutub Eesti ja eestlus tulevikus? palju eestlasi saab olema ja mis formaadis (riik, vabariik, postvabariik? kaome või jääme? 

The end of the year makes one think about things done and things not yet completed. It has been wonderfull 365 nights and days, again. And again, the new 365 is just laying ahead of us. This image above is taken exactly 4 years and 4 days ago in Docklands (VIC). 

Funnily enough today's people tend to set themselves apart from others at the same time forgetting the [non-commerce true traditional] unitedness. Who are we? What is your nationality and how is it defined? What is the future of your tribe/nation/country? How will the format of your unitedness change (nation, republic, postrepublic)? To blend in or to resist?

Solstice

Tänane on kolmel põhjusel märkimisväärt. Algas:

- valgenemine. Päev sai taas öö üle võitu: tänane on eilsest pikem peaaegu 1s,

- lumeperiood. Enne koitu hakkas mõnusat lund sadama, mis peaks püsima, 

- filmirull. Laadisin esimest korda pärast 8 aastat taas filmi fotoaparaati. 

Today is the day that is noteworthy for 3 reasons (in no particular order).
* Days getting longer. Today is the winter solstice and is the first day when we'll get more daylight hours than the day before. That continues until the summer solstice.
* Tonight it  started to snow properly, it has been broadcast that snow will stay. Skiing is definitely in.
* Today I loaded a b/w film after 8 years not using this oldschool medium. 

Tavaline talv Eestis, ent esimene korralik lumi on alati lummav. 

Ordinary winter in Estonia, but the first proper snow is always mind blowing.
